Job Description:
At Job Duck, we are looking for a Medical & Billing Legal Assistant who is passionate about supporting legal teams and making a difference in the lives of clients. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing medical records and billing, assisting paralegals, and ensuring the accuracy of critical documentation. Your work will help streamline case management and improve client experiences, all within a collaborative and structured environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable making outbound calls, thriving in remote settings where adaptability and teamwork are valued. Salary Range: From 1,150 to 1,220 USD
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Work within a case management system and use document/email templates
Request and process medical records and medical bills through external portals
Provide light administrative legal support as needed
Manage outgoing requests and follow-ups
Make outbound client calls (approximately 5–10 per day) for monthly 28-day client check-ins
Adhere to established systems and workflows
Track and organize records and bills once received
Support paralegals by ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and properly processed
Maintain confidentiality and work in a secure, private workspace
Create and maintain medical expense summaries and billing logs in Excel
Requirements:
• 1-2 years of experience working as a legal assistant or in a law firm
• Strong attention to detail required
• Self-driven and disciplined
• Team-oriented mindset
• Adaptability and flexibility
• Comfort with structured workflows and established processes
• Good numerical skills; proficiency in Excel
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Experience working successfully in a remote environment
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Comfortable making outbound client calls
• Willingness to support different teams as needed
• Location and timezone: Remote, Central Standard Time (CST)
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday
• Expected call volume: Moderate (approximately 6-15 calls per day)

- Internal Communication: WhatsApp, Zoom
- Email/Calendar: Microsoft Suite & Outlook
