This is an exciting executive level opportunity to lead, manage and develop a critical branch of the City’s Engineering Services Department. The Assistant Director for Project Administration is responsible for leading multiple divisions who oversee the design and construction of a broad spectrum of projects throughout the City. These diverse, essential projects include roadways, buildings, parks, and greenways. This position will have the opportunity to work closely with every department within the City and all levels of City management, as well as serve as a critical resource for the residents of Raleigh. The City of Raleigh's Engineering Services Department oversees the design and construction of transportation, park, and City building projects and manages the City's stormwater program. The department also manages and maintains City buildings, parking decks, and the fleet of City-owned vehicles.

Lead, Manage and Develop multiple project focused divisions with the Engineering Services Department to include staff supervision, development, evaluation, hiring and discipline
Serve as an executive level manager within the City’s organization providing critical support to, among others, the Department Director, City Manager’s Office, and elected officials
Continuously pursue mechanisms for enhancing customer service and efficient project delivery
Actively participate in the City’s Strategic Planning process with the goal of positively influencing the City’s future direction
Serve as a positive ambassador for the Department and City in all efforts internal and external to the City organization
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or related field; 7 to 9 years' supervisory or managerial level engineering or related experienceLicenses or Certifications:
